That moment when...
...when you go into Hobby Lobby for the perfect button, and walk out with 2 bags and $40 less cash in your pocket....ummm.. oops. Confessions of a yarn-o-holic is not today.
It's that moment when, you do something you never thought you could do.
That moment when, after regretful high school years of barely being able to finish one measly mile for gym class, I somehow ran through the finish line of my first Marathon Relay (essentially a 10k... or SIX.TWO miles!!) while 14 weeks pregnant. There is something to be learned about the power and capability of the human body (and mind!) when doing the unthinkable.
I had another "that moment when..." this week. While doodling in my notebook, I sketched an idea for a future crochet design I thought maybe I could do. Maybe it was possible that I would come up with something on my own. Up until now I have mostly been refining my hook skills and making fun things for my 3 bears, friends and family. I've spent hours making my favorite patterns from Repeatcrafterme and Megmadewithlove or finding other patterns on pinterest or ravelry that just didn't seem "right," and tweaking them to make them work or make them my own.
But it was that moment when I sewed on the appliqué and stitched up the sides. It was that moment when I added the poly-fil and watched something I dreamed up, become a reality. I was almost too giddy to sleep.
No, it's not perfect. It's going to be the kind of pattern only a certain group of people will appreciate. But, it's my creative take on an idea that went from a piece of paper into a crochet surprise that is soft, full of texture and cuteness.
And it's that moment when, I feel unstoppable.
